PRW Racing team again experienced a successful season 2012. A couple of our time-proven cars was run, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX in group 3 and Honda Civic type R of group 8. Our crew also reached few good, partial results. A season for Richard Kirnig and Jirka Hovorka started in Rallysprint in Luzicke hory where they finished on 5th place in a group 3 /totally 14/ then the season continued in Rallysprint in Podkopna Lhota where they again finished on 5th place. However, it was rather bad luck since only 2 seconds separated them from the bronze 3rd place. At the end of May our crew also hop on the carousel of Czech international championship where they occupied total 15th place in a final qualification at Rally Cesky Krumlov. Afterwards Rallysprint in Krkonose followed. It was a key race for our boys because this race was in racers´ home. Nothing was left to chance and nearly all things on the car were overhauled to have the best result. At the end of the race it proved that it was a good idea because the result of the race was the biggest success of Kirnig and Hovorka on the Czech tracks. They finished on the 2nd place in group 3 and totally on the 8th place. This result was even highlighted by very good time consequences in each SS, for example in the 5th SS the crew reached total 2nd place among WRC and S2000 cars. In a sad Rally Bohemia our couple proved that this success was not only a stroke of luck. In this race at the first SS the crew established the same pace like in Krkonose – 2nd place in a group and the total 6th place. They continued in such a great pace in RZ2 as well. After this race they still kept silver place in a group but, unfortunately, a well-know sad incident caused the end of this race. A peak of the season for our team came after unsuccessful sprint in Kostelec nad Orlici - home competition Barum Rally Zlin. This race was successfully completed by our boys among big competitors on the total 22nd place. At the end of the season we planned two starts in our South neighbours in Austria where we succeeded last year and we like it there. First race called Rally Admont took place in scenic foothills in Alps in the North Styria. This rally is put into an Austrian rallye staatsmeisterschaft. Our crew was a leader in a group N after the first successful day. Unfortunately, the following day a mistake appeared and that caused a serious accident. Mitsubishi left the track and at high speed hit frontally a concrete low wall. Boys were rush to hospital where doctors observed collar bone fracture at both racers and driver´s back injury. By this moment it was clear that the season prematurely ended. The planned defence of the last year´s victory in Austrian Leiben was off as well as from defence of the last rallysprint in Vsetin. At the wheel of Honda Civic type R took turns 7 different crews, 5 of them were foreign. Most of the races were taken by perennial star of our team, Austrian Johann Drapela who experienced the 10th season with our team and we want to thank him for that. Next two Austrian crews showed off themselves by high-quality results. Klaus Ostermann and Roland Wurm finished on the 1st place in group 8 at Rally Leiben and Thomas Regner – Witzmann Gottfried finished on the 1st place of group 5 at Thayaland rallye. On the Slovakian tracks also home crews Peter Jurecka – Matej Betko /1st place in group 8/ and Peter Deak – Leskovjansky Stefan /2nd place in group Rally Tatry/ succeeded. From our czech drivers it was Martin Sopuch – Ladislav Greschner and Bronislav Kalus – Jiri Obrucnik. Technical problems avoided us again so we can count our 67th race without any technical problems in a row.

For the following season 2013 we are going to finish new car Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX in group 3, which we hope will be on the same quality as the previous one that we completed last three problem-free seasons with.
